Hello? BCS Are You Broke Again?

Okay, first off I want to congratulate the smoking hot Florida Gator Men's Basketball team for kicking off their season with a number 1 ranking. Looks like this is going to be another fun season. I am definitely looking forward to the Florida/OSU game in December- mark calendars- it's going to be a chompin good time.

If only the BCS could see the light and put USC and OSU in their place. While I believe the men in blue will take care of OSU this weekend, USC just needs their scores recomputed. Seriously. How do they reach over Florida in the BCS? I understand why OSU and Michigan are sitting at 1 and 2 (coaches across this country have drank from the big ten kool aid), but they will knock each other to a more appropriate place. USC is nothing more than a delusion trying to ride the Bush/Leinart wave for one last season.

I'll keep my ranting down because Florida is the driver seat of their own destiny. They win out their season, take the SEC title and they will be sitting pretty to have a shot at the big one. It's been 10 years since the last one, they are due. Not to mention Florida couldn't seriously have more top ranked teams on their schedule once they get a hold of Arkansas. The SEC is just too good for their own good, they knock each other off left and right.

As the big football weekend is approaching along with the great turkey day, I hope people don't forget about the Redhawks that are in need of support. They play the day after Thanksgiving, Noon at Yager.

Recipe for a National Championship

As the new rankings are released for the top teams in college football, I am in total shock and at a loss for words to describe the current situation. Considering the fact that USC is once again over-rated as they have yet to look convincing with their close wins in the Pac-10, the whole thing is a sham. How is Tennesse ranked higher than Florida, when Florida beat them? How is Arkansas still ranked so low even as they are the only team in the SEC to beat Auburn? With so many questions swirling in my brain regarding the complete and total shaft the SEC continues to receive, one clear messages is sent regarding the top team- they have discovered gold- how to reach the top without actually trying.

That being said- I'm going to break it open for the rest of the world. The following is a sure-fire path to reaching the top of college football rankings:

Begin with 1 cupcake schedule. The key is to find another completly over-rated team to beat right out of the gate to make people think you are actually good. Stack the rest of your schedule with teams that lay at the bottom of your conference and/or other smaller conferences. Put your only actual challenge at the end of your schedule so you keep winning when everyone else falls. Mix in a wide receiver that can catch anything your crappy QB launches to keep your team afloat.

Sit back and watch your number 1 votes pour in as you roll over teams in the MAC & Conference USA while teams with actual talent are playing other nationally ranked teams.

The whole recipe works best when your fans are just as delusional and will sing your praises even with QB's like Zwick.

OSU- your number 1 ranking is based on nothing.
